There is no God!!!

Do you believe that there is no God?

Are you like me? Bubbling with the belief that there is no God? Positive in the truth that their God is nothing more and nothing less than their control mechanism, specifically created, designed and put forward with the intention, purely and simply, of controlling the masses?

Where are their proofs to prove that their greater being, their God, is above us, keeping his eye on what is happening and ensuring that no-one, no-one at all will come to any harm at all. Because that, in essence, is the story that they feed you.

Why do they do it?

They do it for quite simple reasons. They do it so that you will do as they wish, so that you will behave as they wish, in effect, so that they can snap their fingers and you, the believer will go running, in the belief that to do that will ensure that you go to heaven, or at best, that you won’t go to hell.

Why do so many believe in their God?

Personally, I find that an easy question to answer. There are an awful lot of believers that find a belief in their god, whichever one it may be, allows them to make sense of the world around them. They find that their belief of a superior being, a higher force, helps them to put some order into what has happened throughout their life and, as often as not, once their problem has been dealt with they have no need for a god and stop believing.

Why is Christianity a dying game?

In the modern world it is socially more acceptable, much more acceptable, for a person to have their own thoughts, their own beliefs, even their own lack of thoughts and beliefs. It is so much more acceptable for a person to think for themselves. Not so long ago there were an awful lot more religious programs on the T.V but that has changed hugely. It just isn’t so popular now and, as I see it, it is because there are a much, much smaller percentage of Christians in our society. Nobody says anything, nobody stands up and shouts about it but as time goes on Christianity drifts away from us.

So what is your belief?

I don't believe in the biblical god, nor of any god followed by man.

re: "There is no God"

Sure there is.

Nope, not being contrary just to be contrary, but from a knowledge standpoint, both statements are equal.

Belief meets belief.

cheers

Hi Guys, no, there is no god!!! AntonOfTheNorth, I'd be interested to know how both statements can be equal!!!

The question "Is there a God?" has an indisputably binary answer (assuming you have first agreed on your definition of "God"). There is either a God, or there isn't. However, this isn't a question that anyone on this earth can indisputably answer. The statements, then, "There is no God" and "There is a God" are both equal in the sense that both can be logically justified with exactly the same amount of proof: none at all.

You're quite right Chasuk, so you're left with what you know in your heart and my heart picks the answer that is more provable and more likely. Wonder how many of the remaining christians believe in ghosts?

Belief in Jehovah is still common in the US. Believers in Jehovah are more prone to believe in ghosts and other aspects of the supernatural/paranormal than non-believers.

Maybe sometimes there is a god and sometimes there isn't. (Monday morning for example).

there are differences between a god and the biblical god, as well as a creator versus creation.

What are your opinions?

georgethegent profile image

georgethegent Hub Author 4 months ago

I am an atheist so in my humble opinion there is no god. I can still read about a god and take it as a lesson presented to me, or to the people.

I've not yet got to grips with "Earth was built in seven days." I haven't worked out whether the seven days were used to simplify the story for the common people because there are a lot of folk walking this earth that believe in the seven day bit outright and it is obviously not true.

I do continue to consider these things though. What are your thoughts?

Drive by bible quoting is just hearsay, over two thousand years old.

Saying it doesn't make it a truth, and it only worked for Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ that her belief came true.

my opinion....

Hey Mike, glad you like it! You're right, we're all entitled to our own beliefs and that's how it should be, we have to be allowed to think for ourselves!!!

Who needs to read several books when one has the True Book? Quoting from God's Word is not hearsay. The Bible has proved Itself over and over and will again, you will see that. Unfortunetly for you, when Jesus does return, you will be cast into Hell if you continue in this ignorance. And just for the record, my middle name is not Dorothy!

Take a look outside and tell me where is the proof..

You say that it is not hearsay, then bring forth someone that was there and can testify to its authenticity and truth.

Good write George, this brings me to that old saying, Sir Issac Newton I think may have been first to say, "I'd rather believe that there is a God and be wrong, than to not have believed and been right, cause IF, the Bible being one of if not the most studied and read book in the world for almost 2000 years isn't some form of the TRUTH, it is the greatest novel of all time penned from historical events and a people that are real.

G-d bless those with and without faith and hope. Just my point of view and I am a sold out Bible Believer that Jesus of Nazareth did exist, conquered death and is now among the Angels who watch over everything in this great creation.

Good on you Artin and thanks, I have no problem with believers that are open-minded enough to accept that I do not believe in God. Sometimes it doesn't work that way though.

Emily, I see that you are still the only one that is right, regardless of the fact that others are allowed their own opinion. It can be a lonely world, can't it.

Emily Sparks profile image

I guess it can be a loney world, I wouldn't know! I never said people can't have their own "opinions", although the facts are what will stand regardless of "opinions". Someone once said, when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to step back and evaluate.

georgethegent profile image

Very true Emily, the facts are what will stand, regardless of opinions, beliefs and all the rest. That's a good thought too, when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to step back and evaluate. It will do no harm. Thank you!!!

Personally, I don't believe in god, any god. That doesn't mean I'm right, it just means that 'I' think I'm right ;-)

From what I understand, everything that mankind knows about God (any god), is written in story books by humans, for other humans to read. Beautiful scripts, inspirational passages? Definitely. But more than just fairy stories for grownups? I doubt it very much.

Atheists, agnostics, and true believers do share one thing in common though, and that is 'We Don't Know', none of us do. We can believe what we want to believe but the fact of the matter is that 'We Don't Know', not atheists, not agnostics, nor true believer.

And just for the record, I'm not anti-religion or people of religious conviction, and I can see how they get comfort from their faith, it's just that I personally think the whole thing is a load of old codswallop. That doesn't make me bad, corrupt, or immoral, but just another person with his own beliefs.
